Questions people ask us
Short, plain answers — the kind you'd get if you asked out loud.
- What does the Bible say about forgiveness?
- Scripture describes forgiveness as releasing a debt rather than forgetting an offense. It is a decision to stop demanding payment, kept over time as memory resurfaces. It does not automatically restore trust — trust is rebuilt through changed behavior, and boundaries can be wise even after genuine forgiveness.
- Do I have to be a Christian to join Jesus Table?
- No. If you are curious, questioning, deconstructing, or simply lonely, you are welcome here. We ask only that you engage honestly and treat other members with respect.
- How do I ask for prayer?
- Create a thread in the Prayer Requests category with as much or as little detail as you want to share. Members pray through new requests daily, and you can post an update on the same thread whenever you have news.
- Is Jesus Table connected to a specific denomination?
- We are not tied to a single denomination. Our Statement of Faith reflects historic, creedal Christianity, and our members come from Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal, and non-denominational backgrounds.
- How are the forums moderated?
- Volunteer moderators review reported posts daily. We remove abuse, spam, and content that targets people rather than ideas. Disagreement is welcome; contempt is not.
- Is it free to join?
- Yes. Creating an account, reading the blog, and participating in every forum category is free, and we do not sell member data.
