About Jesus Table
Jesus Table began with a simple conviction: the earliest picture of the church is not a lecture hall but a table. People eating together, arguing a little, sharing what they had, making room for whoever showed up.
We are not tied to a single denomination. Our members come from Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal, and non-denominational backgrounds. You do not need to have your beliefs settled to sit down here. Curiosity, grief, doubt, and joy are all welcome at this table.
Statement of Faith
- God
- We believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — the maker of heaven and earth.
- Jesus Christ
- We believe Jesus is fully God and fully human, born of Mary, crucified under Pontius Pilate, raised bodily on the third day, and coming again.
- Scripture
- We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, trustworthy and sufficient for faith and life, and best read in community.
- Grace
- We believe salvation is a gift received by faith, not a wage earned by performance, and that it produces a life of love.
- The Church
- We believe the Church is one holy, catholic, and apostolic people, gathered around word and table across every denomination and nation.
How we treat each other
Disagreement is welcome; contempt is not. We argue with ideas and not with people, we assume the best reading of what someone wrote, and we take conflict off the public thread when it stops being useful to anyone else.
