Why Community Is Not Optional for the Christian Life
The earliest picture we have of the church is not a lecture hall. It is a table. People eating together, arguing a little, sharing what they had, making room for whoever showed up.
What does a table ask of us?
It asks for proximity. You cannot pass bread from a distance. It asks for patience with people who are not like you, which is exactly the point.
Where does an online forum fit?
Imperfectly, and still genuinely. A thread is not a meal, but it can be a place where someone is known by name and prayed for on a hard Tuesday. Use it as a bridge to embodied community, not a replacement for it.
